Lead / Senior Instrument Commissioning Engineers - Expression of Interest Requisition ID :2022-105195 Work Location :GB-Aberdeenshire-Aberdeen Department / Discipline : Commissioning Position Type : Agency / Contract Overview / Responsibilities Wood Commissioning is looking for experienced Lead / Senior Instrument Commissioning Engineers for a number of upcoming onshore and offshore contract opportunities both domestically and internationally: Accountabilites: * Accountable for the safe and timely preparation and execution of the project Instrument commissioning work scope in adherence with project HSEQ safety targets, procedures and practices * Accountable for ensuring all instrument commissioning is carried out in accordance with project commissioning specifications, standards and procedures * Accountable for developing the project instrument commissioning strategy and approving instrument procedures * Accountable for ensuring instrument commissioning is carried out in accordance with project schedules and budget * To play an active role in ensuring that all project HSE goals are achieved and where possible exceeded * To process safe completion of designated instrument commissioning activities in line with the project schedule and milestones in a consistent and timely manner * To assist in maintenance of the project budget through diligence and utilisation of efficient and working practices Responsibilities: * Supervise the safe completion of the project instrument pre-commissioning / commissioning work-scope * Supervise and support the project Instrument Commissioning Team * Provide Fire & Gas input into project instrument system design during the project design phase * Provide instrument commissioning input to the project plans and schedules * Develop project instrument commissioning strategy documents * Review / approve and supervise the design and installation of minor temporary instrument systems / supplies * Review and approve instrument commissioning procedures - ensure compliance with project standards, specifications and procedures * Ensure all instrument commissioning activities adhere to all applicable site / project safety procedures and practices * Actively participate in all company and project safety initiatives * Liaise with the instrument engineering office to ensure that the electrical fabrication drawings are produced in line with commissioning requirements * Audit site / project instrument activities on a regular basis to ensure all compliance with project safety, environmental, and quality requirements * Monitor and report instrument commissioning progress on a regular basis * Approve all instrument system/sub-system mechanical completion, pre-commissioning and commissioning sign-off certificates / milestones * Ensure a safe Instrument Permit to Work and isolation system is in place and adhered to * Manage / attend project HAZID's / Risk Assessments * Provide input into audit reviews * Provide input into budget management and cost control * Provide input into planning process as requested * Provide input into safety reviews / walk-rounds Skills / Qualifications Qualifications: * HNC / HND (or equivalent) in Instrumentation Engineering or related subject * BOSIET / OGUK Medical (or equivalent) * Company mandatory training (Induction, Risk Assessment etc) * BSc (or equivalent) in Instrumentation Engineering or related subject (an advantage) * PTW Training * HAZID / HAZOP Training Knowledge, Skills and Experience: * Proven experience as an Instrument Commissioning Engineer on oil and gas projects or related industry * Conversant with the completions process and associated completions management software (WinPCS, Mancon, EDS etc.) * Experienced in the supervision of personnel and team working * Good knowledge of O&G related HSEQ safe working practices / procedures * Offshore experience in similar role * Knowledge and use of planning systems * High level of understanding of O&G related HSE processes / procedures and their implementation * Ability to work and deliver project milestones in a consistent and structured manner * Ability to work in a team environment and provide guidance to other team members * Ability to follow / comply with procedures and recognised working practices Personal Attributes: * Driven passion for behavioural site safety programmes * Demonstrates a commitment to safety * Flexible - able to comply /adapt to company / client requirements * Delivery focused and committed to achievement of project goals * Ability to interact with other departments / disciplines * Confident and ability to work on own initiative * Desire to learn and develop * Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment Company Overview Wood is a global leader in engineering and consultancy across energy and the built environment, helping to unlock solutions to some of the world’s most critical challenges.
