The team is highly successful and our workload is growing providing opportunities to be involved in a number of major highways and infrastructure schemes that we are delivering for high-profile clients across the UK. To help us to achieve our ambition we are expanding our Lighting delivery team and are seeking individuals who have a sound technical background and share our enthusiasm and determination to deliver successful projects. Our Roads Lighting team is looking for someone who would want to grow and develop their project and management skills in Exterior Lighting. Your experience should include previous lighting projects and you should ideally have a strong electrical background. The role will cover all aspects of transportation lighting and electrical design, i.e. Highways (local roads and motorways), Rail Stations, and Road Tunnel projects. These include: * SWTRA framework * Transport for London (TfL) * Highways England A46 Walsgrave Improvement * A229 Bluebell Hill Improvement * A428 Black Cat to Caxton Gibbet Improvement, * Oxfordshire CC - Didcot Garden Town schemes * Buckinghamshire CC - South East Aylesbury Link Road, * Transport for London schemes * Highways England OD East Capital Delivery Programme * A1 Doncaster to Darrington, M1/ M62Lofthouse * M11 Junction 7A * A38 Derby Junctions * M54-M6 Link Road Job Responsibilities: * Work within a team environment to help produce and support concept through to detailed design packages, including AutoCAD plans and design details, specifications, and schedules * Prepare a sketch and design proposals and liaise with equipment manufacturers as well as clients * Task manage the delivery of lighting and electrical work packages as part of larger design schemes * Compile bid and fee documentation for new project work * Co-ordinate projects and workload across the Roads Lighting staff * Attend or support attendance of design and site meetings * Supervise the production of accurate, efficient, creative and coordinated lighting and electrical designs * Comply with AECOM’s Safety in Design policies * Act as liaison between the client departments and across various design disciplines * Undertake Site surveys when required * Support the delivery of all financial targets and KPI’s Minimum Requirements We are keen to hear from you if you can offer a combination of the following: * Knowledge of current editions of the IET wiring regulations (BS7671) * BSc/HNC level qualification or equivalent ideally in an electrical-related field * Project and financial management experience * Line management or supervisory experience * Demonstrate comprehensive understanding of CDM and Safety in design * Experience working at the various BIM levels * IT skills including Microsoft Office * Evidence of continuous professional development * Incorporated Engineer status or working towards – Advantageous * Experience using Cable sizing and calculation software (Amtech preferred) * Experience using Lighting Design Software (Lighting Reality preferred) * Ability to travel to other areas in the region as needed to meet business requirements Preferred Qualifications * We would expect a candidate at this level to be an Incorporated (IEng) * HNC, BSc, BEng in Electrical Engineering or related subject; Your benefits will include: Helping our employees achieve a healthy work-life balance is important to us.
