If you are a first, second or penultimate year undergraduate student looking to obtain practical work experience then our Undergraduate Programme could be for you. We are looking for an undergraduate student to join our Strategic Consulting and Technology team on a 9-12 month placement. We’ll give you valuable work experience and development opportunities, enabling you to work on key projects and experience working alongside technical specialists to support your university studies.
Amey Strategic Consulting and Technology is the UK’s leading asset analytics and technology consultancy for infrastructure. We enable the infrastructure industry to make better decisions under increasingly uncertain conditions, using data science techniques and technology solutions to help our clients deliver a better service to their customers. Our clients include Heathrow Airport, National Grid, United Utilities, Severn Trent Water, Network Rail, London Underground and New York MTA.
In the past five years, we’ve grown a team of 100 people, achieving and maintaining a fast-paced start-up mentality within a large infrastructure operator. We keep diversity at the heart of our hiring practices, with active support for team members from the LGBT community, increasing women in our industry, and promoting ethnic diversity. Our small team culture is supported by regular team socials.
Our cross-discipline team gives us a unique perspective on capital investment, operational expenditure, how assets create business value and how organisations carry and manage risk. We use this knowledge analytically and develop open source and proprietary software to provide insightful evidence for decision makers.
What are we looking for?
We will work with you to harness what you have learnt, the skills you’ve developed and help you to grow them; and we will fast-track your CV by providing you with significant responsibility and challenges from day one with the world’s top infrastructure clients. Our small-team culture will ensure you learn from those around you and are involved in a variety of work at all levels. All this is supported by targeted training to support your technical and consulting skills. The range of skills in the team will gear you up for senior consultancy and management roles in the future.
You will currently be working towards your undergraduate degree and be on track to achieve a 2.1 in a scientific or analytical subject, including:
* Computer Science
* Data Science
We also welcome other subjects as long as there is experience in MS Office (specially Excel) and/or programming language(s) such as Python or R
We place great value on all our people and the contribution they make to our business, that’s why we offer our placement students a competitive salary and the opportunity to apply to our Graduate Development Programme.
Amey is an equal opportunities employer.
