What is the purpose of the role?

Are you motivated by giving an outstanding service to customers? Are you looking for a new career? Then look no further. Every year, we carry out over 500,000 tests on samples of water that we routinely collect from our treatment sites, reservoirs and randomly selected customer properties to ensure your drinking water is of the highest quality.

What makes this role unique?

This is a unique role which allows you to have complete control over your day to day work. You will be visiting operational sites, along with dealing with customers directly at their homes and taking water samples ensuring the standard of drinking water we provide is always to the best standards possible. You really will be working on the front line and be the face of our business.

What will this role involve?

Collecting samples from works, reservoirs and customer addresses; this will involve some cold calling, so a high level of confidence and strong customer service skill is an absolute necessity.

You will be in charge of managing the maintenance of your sampling records and sampling equipment to UKAS and DWI standards.

Planning your workload and deliver monitoring programs, liaising with the technical scheduling team, cswq group and process team for technical data and regulatory and performance team for all reactive work, all in line with company protocols.

You will also have an excellent attention to detail, as you will have to keep records of all samples taken on a daily basis.

Other duties will include investigating possible supply issues, whilst effectively planning routes and collection programs.

Arranging appointments with customers and sample customer complaints and taking part in events as part of an out of hour's roster.

What are we looking for?

This role will require you to be the face of our company by visiting our customer's homes therefore; excellent customer service and communication skills are essential to be successful in this field. You will learn all about our health and safety legislation as well as the water industry and processes relevant to this area of work. You need to be able to think on your feet and quickly as the role is very fast paced. There will be extensive travel involved in this role so you must be comfortable driving a commercial van and be confident driving in busy environments, such as city centres or enclosed estates. A full, clean UK driving license is essential to be progressed through to the next stage.

The starting salary will be £19,550 with a succession plan in place for further development and will be based at our Fobney water treatment works.
