What is the purpose of the role?

In this key role, you will be responsible for the leadership of 3 teams, consisting of up to 30 team members, who support customers through the build over, adoptions and sewer connections journeys whilst ensuring all asset protection standards are applied appropriately. As the Waste technical manager, you will ensure that the team's performance is managed and monitored through KPI's that relate to statutory timescales, financial targets and customer experience. You will ensure the waste teams apply the necessary relevant technical regulations, policies and standards. The teams you manage play a key role in the wider Thames business by ensuring existing assets are protected and new assets are built and adopted to the required standard.

Responsible for delivery of all levels of service for all customer, business and regulatory performance measures which include Water UK Levels of Service, WIA Regulatory measures and CSAT.

Act as an accessible and responsive escalation point for customer / business issues resolution, adopting fair and consistent application of policy and guidelines.

Respond to information and results and take appropriate action.

Regularly track, monitor and report on KPI's to quickly identify and provide solutions to any issue.

Monitor process performance and take on opportunities for continuous improvement.

Provide constant monitoring and management of quality standards and consistency, utilising all available data sources to provide balanced, effective and informed reporting.

What are we looking for?

We are looking for an experienced team leader/manager that preferably has relevant industry experience or understanding of the water industry, including knowledge of the water industry act and relevant regulation relating to below ground assets and connections. You will have the ability to lead, motivate/engage and develop people within a team, as well as maintaining a positive attitude to motivate the staff reporting into you. In order to be successful in this role, you must be resourceful, possess a 'can 'do' attitude, be optimistic and overall have exceptional people skills. With a previous background and successful track record/experience in team management, you will lead your team in a way that stands out across the business. You will need to be PC literate (MS Office) as well as having strong numerate and analytical skills.

Thames Water information and salary details

This role is based at Thames Water's Head Office at Clearwater Court. We are offering a salary of £43,000.00.
