Waste & Resource Management Consultant
We need a self-motivated team player to contribute to the team’s wider consultancy services in public sector waste management as well as street cleansing reviews and improvement plans, plus extensive support in waste, recycling, grounds maintenance and other environmental services. The team undertakes a variety of work in the waste and resource management sector and you will need to be flexible and able to apply yourself to a range of different projects in the sector
A core part of your role will include oversight of our services in Local Environmental Quality (LEQ) services and developing additional business in this field. Our independent Local Environmental Quality (LEQ) surveys predominantly cover monitoring of street cleanliness standards monitoring for local councils, in order to improve the natural environment for their communities and help ensure street cleaning services are efficient and good value for money. The role involves managing the small team of LEQ surveyors who undertake the grading surveys.
You would need to plan, schedule and allocate surveys to individuals, support in the undertaking of the surveys if required, produce reports, act as the key point of contact with our clients (local authorities and their contractors), write competitive proposals and undertake other business development activities to expand our customer portfolio and to support the wider team as and when required. For this role you must have a UK driving licence.
* Good communicator at all levels, ideally with some experience in making presentations;
* Good correspondence and report-writing skills;
* Able to undertake research and reporting understanding of data analysis, modelling and interpretation;
* Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team;
* Conversant with all aspects of the NI195 Performance Indicator and street cleanliness monitoring would be desirable but not essential as training can be provided;
* Excellent IT capability in use of Microsoft Excel and Word;
* Full UK driving licence;
* Degree or equivalent in an environmental discipline; and
* Chartered Waste Manager or working towards achieving this.
