What is the purpose of the role?
The Waste pumping planner is arguably one of the most important roles in the provision of our wastewater services. We are committed to safeguarding the environment and improving this precious resource for current and future generations, while also providing essential services to our customers. Forming part of the planning and scheduling team, this role plays a key part in ensuring the maximum completion and delivery is met. As the planner, you will be responsible for managing the maintenance plans and changing them as required, ensuring accuracy and balance in the plans at all times. You will host weekly planning meetings with the field team managers to communicate updates on plan progression and monthly performance, therefore, you must be engaging, flexible and possess the ability to influence key stakeholders as well as building rapport with the field teams and your schedulers.

You have direct responsibility for planning which is integral to the running of the department and make transformative changes to the way activity is planned and delivered.
What will this role involve?
Providing feedback regarding plan deliverability, cost to date and task details for planned work.
Identifying and removing of duplicate and redundant work prior to dispatch to technicians.
Providing support to schedulers and field staff. Analysing forecasted work volumes in comparison to resource levels in order to identify and escalate issues in advance, when demand is likely to exceed supply.
Building an effective and efficient plan to deliver maintenance work based on resource and skills.
Hosting weekly review meetings to review performance against plan and actively managing the plan.
Building and maintaining positive relationships with field and scheduling teams.
Releasing work and monitoring delivery of the planned maintenance to ensure maximum completion against the plan.
What are we looking for?
Are you used to engaging and influencing third parties and stakeholders? Do you have a willingness to learn and are flexible and adaptable in your approach? Do you have a keen eye for detail and the ability to spot when things could be wrong? If the answers are yes, look no further! We are seeking an engaging individual who possess experience in working in a fast paced environment and has excellent relationship management and influencing skills. As well as this, you will have the ability to conduct analysis of data to identify potential issues and future scenario planning. You will have confident presentation skills, as well as strong written and verbal communication skills. Experience of SAP and Excel at an intermediate level is required for this pivotal role. Due to travel between sites, a full driving licence is required for this role.
Thames Water information and salary details
This role offers a salary of up to £26,000.00 depending on skills, experience and location. It is based in either Camberley STW or Crossness STW.
