Job Summary

We are currently recruiting for an established and enthusiastic waste and resources management consultant to join our UK-wide Climate Change, Sustainability and Resilience practice within the Environment and Sustainability business unit. The team has a well-deserved reputation for working with clients, planners and developers alike on best practice and innovative management strategies to support planning applications and produce strategies that not only satisfy National, Regional and Local policy requirements, but also set a precedence for future waste management techniques and sustainable development.

The successful candidates should to have a good knowledge and understanding of environmental issues, including environmental legislation and standards. The candidate will be expected to have experience in waste management, environmental management systems, resource use, waste minimisation and pollution prevention; in order to help deliver a range of technical reports for projects across a wide range of sectors including (but not limited to): waste, water, pharmaceuticals, food and drink, construction, manufacturing, research and development, transport, healthcare, local authorities, mixed commercial, office based, industrial, entertainment, residential, marine, education, and retail.

Roles on projects will vary depending on skills and experience; individuals would be expected to work as part of larger teams for major projects as well as be able to deliver small projects working alone and/or with one other under senior leadership.

Minimum Requirements

We are looking for enthusiastic candidates with the following:

*

Holistic understanding of sustainability, with a particular interest in waste and resource management;

*

Able to demonstrate an experience and knowledge of waste and resource management – experience working on waste management with or for local authorities, particularly in London is desirable;

*

Experience of working in multi-disciplinary teams, liaising with project managers and managing smaller independent projects;

*

A desire to delivering technical excellence;

*

Project and financial management experience working to budgets and tight deadlines;

*

Knowledge of MS work packages to produce reports, presentations and data sets;

*

Commercial awareness for business development, marketing, and proposal preparation;

*

Great communication skills in English, fluency in other languages an advantage;

*

Strong analytical skills and Problem solving abilities. Self-starter, who can design and deliver work under own initiative

*

Solid numeracy skills, confidence in working with large data sets and advanced Excel skills

Preferred Qualifications

* A science-based background i.e. relevant MSc or equivalent qualification in Sustainability, Environmental management or similar, or a strong undergraduate degree in a relevant subject accompanied by relevant work experience in the consultancy and the resource management sector.
