WHAT TO EXPECT
In this critical role within the Jaguar Land Rover Vehicle Safety Integration department, you'll be setting targets for the delivery of active and passive safety attributes that support and are manufactured in line with Jaguar Land Rover product DNA. Working as a key member of the department responsible for setting safety targets for each vehicle program, You'll carry on the close relationship with the Computer Aided Engineering function, development and test groups to deliver development and optimisation plans as well as gateway report-outs.
As a Vehicle Safety Integration Engineer, you'll liaise with all component areas to ensure corporate, legal and design targets are met by the department, driving issue resolution and providing progress reports for gateways and management review. You'll assess Jaguar Land Rover safety history, competitor action & vehicle safety trends, providing expertise and benchmarking to drive the design for safety. You will also chair the safety PAT, a cross-discipline team that defines and delivers safety targets. All strategies and targets will be in line with the safety strategy set out by the Automotive Safety Office.
In your role, you will set targets and cascades for vehicle safety attributes, working with the CAE environment and other departments to drive the design for safety. You'll use competitor benchmarking, Jaguar Land Rover safety history and industry trends as part of vehicle program safety strategies and liaise with all component areas to ensure targets and corporate / legal standards.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
A familiarity of vehicle architecture and a background in vehicle safety strategies are required in this position and a high level of communication and strategic skills are highly desirable. A mixture of practical skills and education to degree level are also key strengths in this role and the ability to manage stakeholders and face off to various levels throughout the business both internal and external is beneficial.
You'll be working across a variety of Jaguar Land Rover sites in this role, so flexibility to travel and
a full driving license are must-haves for this position.
You'll understand all aspects of vehicle architecture, vehicle safety integration and testing, working to corporate and legal vehicle safety regulations.
