What we’re looking for

We’re seeking a UX Designer to join the Oracle NetSuite HCM (SuitePeople) team in Kitchener. SuitePeople gives business complete control over their HR processes. SuitePeople empowers managers, employees and HR professionals to streamline employee information, employee onboarding, payroll, promotions, compensation changes and talent management.

The role

* Hands-on creative problem solving in a cloud-based enterprise software system.

* Collaborate with Designers, User Researchers, Engineers and Product Managers in small Agile teams.

* Work in teams to iteratively deliver features, understanding and refining requirements, validating concepts, and collectively making progress until you get to the best design solution together.

* Deliver design solution from research insights to design deliverables: task flows, customer journeys, low fidelity mock-ups, and prototypes.

* Facilitate design sessions and apply collaborative methods to produce user-centric solutions.

* Demonstrate a passion for iteration and an eagerness to receive feedback.

* Manage and prioritize multiple projects of varying timelines, degrees of complexity and scope.

Qualifications/skills

* Degree in Product/Industrial Design, Systems Engineering, Human Computer Interaction or related field, or equivalent professional experience.

* Minimum 2-5 years working in the field of User Experience/Interaction Design, or a recent graduate with a degree in Visual Design, Information Studies, Systems Engineering, or Human Computer Interaction.

* Online portfolio demonstrating design experience, or a Master’s/Bachelor’s thesis on a user experience-related subject.

* A commitment to learning and the ongoing development of your skills – and a desire to share your learnings with others.

* A positive and resilient personality. You must be able to embrace feedback and have a desire for continuous iteration and improvement

* Flexibility to work with geographically distributed teams and willing to travel.

* Analytical and strategic mindset.

Responsible for creating, evaluating and modifying prototypes to support evolving hardware and software application development.

As a member of the User Experience team, you will develop and apply software design/usability processes in the investigation of technical problems. May develop user profiles, with emphasis on human error control, display issues, visual interaction, physical manipulation and task and objective analyses. Provide product usability, evaluation and support to product development teams, including the analysis and investigation of applications/systems including tactile methods, visual graphics, web, multimedia, voice response and conversational user interaction. May assist in developing design concept and implementation, providing input on user design considerations. May produce specifications describing user needs and internal structures for product in development.

Work involves some problem solving with assistance and guidance in understanding and applying company policies and processes. Gaining competence in own area and acquiring a higher level understanding of role, processes and procedures. BS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 0-2 years of previous software engineering or related experience needed.
