Job Summary

*

Oversees and conducts planning policy development and planning application/development management technical work and generates solutions under limited supervision.

*

Responsible for overseeing and coordinating the work of a small planning team and linking to a broader community of planners across the organisation.

*

Reporting to a planning director(s) who will provide technical direction and lead verification of deliverables and planning strategies.

*

Budget and revenue accountabilities as a project manager, to be accredited across AECOM PM budget and project management systems.

*

Reviews planning documents (as PM) for compliance with contract requirements and quality of technical content

*

Reviews completed work and documents and conducts interdisciplinary reviews of project deliverables.

Minimum Requirements

*

Thorough knowledge and understanding of Northern Ireland planning policy, legislation, plan-making and development management processes. ​

*

Thorough knowledge of planning and development, and one or more specialisations.

*

Good knowledge of planning law, guidance, codes and regulations, including recent changes, procedures and practices.

*

Awareness of recent developments, current literature and sources of information. - Innovation, detail-oriented, experienced in highly visible/controversial projects.

*

Strong problem-solving and negotiation skills.

*

Ability to exercise sound and independent judgment within general policy guidelines.

*

Management skills and ability to manage day-to-day operations.

*

Ability to understand and manage high-profile, sensitive or controversial political situations.

Preferred Qualifications

*

Thorough knowledge and understanding of Republic of Ireland planning policy, legislation, plan-making and development management processes. ​

*

Bachelor's degree or equivalent. Advanced/postgraduate/second degree preferred. Maintains registration/licensure.
