Capita Property and Infrastructure is looking to recruit Transport Planners / Traffic Engineers in Manchester and the North West.
Capita provide transport advice and development planning assistance to both the public and private sector. Our services range from data collection and traffic modelling to detailed transport assessments and travel plans to scheme design and assessment from a transport perspective.
We are currently recruiting for a Transport Planner to provide support to our senior consultants in delivering a broad range of projects including schemes for Highways England, Public Sector organisations and private sector clients. We have particular requirements in the North West.
The ideal candidate will have a relevant qualification e.g. geography, maths or engineering and ideally a transport-related post-graduate qualification. You will be IT literate with sound mathematical ability and excellent written and verbal communication skills. Importantly, you will be enthusiastic and looking for a long-term career in highways and transportation. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to become involved in a wide variety of exciting transport planning projects and will be a critical part of a very busy commercially focussed team which has an expanding workload.

Your role will be providing competent and enthusiastic support to the Transport Planning teams on a range of projects.
This will require you to:-
Communicate effectively and professionally with all levels of staff and clients (both written and orally)
Have strong numeracy, analytical and report writing skills with an attention to detail
Assist in preparation of transport assessments and travel plans in support of development proposals
Undertake traffic modelling using ARCADY, PICADY, LINSIG, TRANSYT, S-Paramics, VISSIM and SATURN
Assist with data collection, to include parking surveys and trip counts; analyse and present the results
Have familiarity with the Planning Regulatory framework, and knowledge of planning and transport policy and relevant design standards and guidance
Work to deadlines and work autonomously when required.
