Job Title – Trainee Diagnostic Technician
Location – Reading area
Closing Date – 2nd July 2019
Salary - £20,000 - £24,000 pa (dependant on experience)

A trainee Diagnostic Operations Technician is required, to provide hands-on technical support setting up and maintaining diagnostic equipment used in Hydrodynamic experiments.
Train in use of diagnostic hardware including but not limited to: digitisers, oscilloscopes and delay generators
Train in the production and installation of coaxial cable assemblies
Train in the use of High Voltage capacitive discharge systems
Undertake routine maintenance tasks
Prepare and maintain necessary process documentation
Produce reliable, accurate data, keeping accurate records of work undertaken and associated results
Plan activities to achieve efficient use of own time
May be required to carry out safety related roles including but not limited to: Nominated Person Electrical; COSHH Assessor, Manual Handling Assessor
The Company may require you to fulfil any other reasonable duties aligned to your position from time to time in line with business needs
We are interested in hearing from candidates with practical experience in an experimental or operational environment. An ONC or equivalent in an electronic engineering/science discipline is preferred but not essential.
Following training, the role will entail using specialist equipment such as: digitisers, high speed cameras, flash lighting systems and laser systems to diagnose results from experimental tests.
This role requires someone who has the ability to:
Plan and manage the delivery of own tasks
Operate specialist equipment and follow specialist processes to deliver solutions to technical problems
Solve technical problems by ing specialist technical knowledge of diagnostic systems
Communicate technical issues effectively
Use desktop computers and be familiar with standard IT products
Integrate and work well in a team
Candidates must be willing and able to obtain and maintain the necessary security clearance and be willing and able to work in designated areas. Consideration will be given to flexible working.
