We are looking for a Traffic Management Operative to join us on our Kent County Council contract. Amey currently deliver a full range of highways maintenance services across the whole of the county. You will be liaising with the Highways Supervisor and OCR Manager to enable works to be completed efficiently, effectively and on time. You will be required to carry out pre-work inspections and the work itself to ensure work orders are completed accurately, and the work itself is completed to the required standard.
Part of your role will be planning for works, and ensuring work can be carried out in accordance with current legislation including health and safety, environmental and noise regulations. You’ll also need to ensure that the work has the required risk assessments and method statements and that the information is correct and the Service Hazard and Risk Control (SHARC) permit is prepared. You will also be required to liaise with both the client and external bodies to ensure that the correct orders are in place to allow the work to be completed.
You will be required to have good knowledge of Traffic Management, and lining knowledge would be desirable. There will be an opportunity to learn on the job, so you won’t need to have all of the skills, you’ll just need to be a good team player who can work well under pressure and have good time management and organisational skills to programme works to meet deadlines. We are looking for someone with the following:
* CITB Site Safety Management (or equivalent)
* Experience of Chapter 8 and Traffic Management on High speed roads
* New Roads and Street Works Act (NRSWA)
* Full UK Driving Licence preferably with LGV Class C
* CSCS card
The hours for this role are primarily 07:30am till 16:15pm; however nights may be required occasionally. There is also a rotation for call out, which is a requirement.
You will be working with the ancillary team which consists of a supervisor and around 14 operatives who will be carrying out various traffic management works including minor structures maintenance, CVVT and drainage works, and who will be working with subcontractors.
