Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Thermal Design Engineer, ideally someone who has worked in Spacecraft design before. The Thermal Design Engineer will be joining a small team that interacts with many different groups and in support of the Propulsion Thermal Architect or Spacecraft Thermal Architect.

Infrequent travel may be required

The Thermal Design Engineer is responsible for:

Validating flight thermal installations during ambient or spacecraft thermal vacuum tests.
Reviewing, analysing and documenting propulsion thermal design and workmanship verification test results.
Supporting thermal analysis campaigns by coordinating the required resources, providing technical advice, checking analytical output and performing the analysis if appropriate.
Performing trade-off studies and reviewing analysis results to ensure compliance with defined requirements.
Presenting results and design justifications at meetings and reviews.
Reviewing and authorising design drawings according to the defined design delegation matrix.
Performing hardware inspections to ensure compliance with design standards.
Designing and documenting development test procedures and coordinating the necessary resources to carry them out.
Analysing, documenting and presenting development test results.

As the successful candidate, you should hold a degree in a relevant engineering discipline (or alternatively have appropriate experience), and must be able to demonstrate the following:

¤ The ability to listen, understand and communicate information

¤ The desire to work in a technical team environment

¤ A strong interest in developing yourself

¤ Interest in finding creative solutions to complex problems

¤ Able to make decisions based on evidence

¤ The desire to work in an open and trusting environment
