What is the purpose of the role?

The Thames Valley Waste Network manager role is accountable for the delivery of 4 million customer's sewerage services on a daily basis. You will be responsible for ensuring that our customers receive excellent service at all times and that all our activities on the network are undertaken in a safe and controlled manner.

The role includes leading and developing a skilled, specialist and cohesive team to keep the network running smoothly and protect our customers' homes from flooding. An important aspect of the role will be to co-ordinate with other Operational teams to create conditions that will enable the Department to outperform its Outcome Delivery Incentives (ODIs) which includes sewer flooding incidents and pollutions.

You will be leading teams through change, managing a commercial contract, ensuring strict Health & Safety standards, writing and delivering business strategies, identifying and implementing new processes and practices, improving customer experience and developing teams.

What will this role involve?

Delivering Operational performance through efficient running of our Network.

Embedding a culture of LEAN thinking and learning from failure. Driving a culture of Health & Safety excellence.

Leading and developing a field based team.

Meeting and exceeding tight financial targets whilst maintaining quality.

Delivering excellent customer experience - specifically SIM targets.

Fostering relationships with the communities that are served within the region.

Responsibility for promoting a continuous improvement culture that has a sustainable strategic impact on both Operational and wider business performance.

What are we looking for?

We are seeking an individual with significant experience of managing and developing Operational teams; strong leadership characteristics with a fundamental understanding and appreciation of Health and Safety management (NEBOSH is preferred). You will be able to demonstrate expertise to manage operational matters within tightly controlled budgets and have the ability to drive a wide-ranging programme of change. You will have excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills; and an ability to develop teams and drive staff performance.

Thames Water information and salary details

This role is based at Kidlington Depot or potentially at another Thames Valley site based on the candidate's base location. We are offering a salary of up to £65k, dependant on skills and experience. You will also receive a competitive bonus, car allowance, private healthcare and an industry leading pension scheme. This role will include a compulsory out of hour's rota.
