We are looking to recruit a Tester to join our Telecoms team in Newbury.

Your role

Title: Tester - IN/SDD

Hours: Perm, Full time 37.5 hrs

Location: Newbury

Salary: £30,000 - £38,000

Closing Date: 3rd December 2020

You will possess creative problem-solving skills in a team environment and comfortable with communicating clearly and efficiently throughout varying levels of both the customer and Altran businesses. Due to the nature of the assignments undertaken by Altran you will work in an environment that promotes autonomy and initiative, requiring a flexible attitude. Above all, you will have a desire to progress.

Responsibilities

* Design Test scenarios / Test Case for IN / HLR domain

* Create Traceability Matrix

* Use the agreed Test Tools/trackers and Environments to execute test scripts and produce all test deliverables and results

* Execute the manual and automated test cases

* To complete testing in line with agreed timeframes and by following the documented business processes using the appropriate test automation tools

* Log, Track and Retest Defect using Defect Management Tools

* Create and ensure availability of Test Data

* Inform the Test Lead, Test Manager and non-functional test lead of any issues that may affect the schedule, budget, or quality of the product or the testing process

* Capture lessons learnt and best practice to improve the test methodology and approach Identify improvements to the testing process and assist in their implementation

* Provide regular and ad-hoc status reports as requested by the Test Manager/Lead

* Fault troubleshooting and analysis, work closely with design teams; tracked bugs through the Quality Centre.

* Continually update skills by learning new technologies relevant to the role

Your profile

Qualifications and Technical Skills

* Strong analytical, planning and organisational skills with high speed of work

* Educated to degree level in a Telecommunications discipline

Knowledge and Experience

* Demonstrable testing experience

* Understanding of 2G, 3G mobile network

* Knowledge/experience in LTE technology: 4G, VOLTE, VoWifi – N/W architecture, flows and interfaces

* Working experience in Charging, Billing, Mediation, Provisioning and Reporting solutions

* Understanding of tools including Wireshark

* Defect tracking tools such as HPQC or JIRA

* Experience in key protocols – INAP, MAP, DIAMETER, TCP/IP, XML

* Basic understanding of Linux/Unix OS

* Experience of integration and acceptance Testing / E2E testing of telecommunications services and equipment

* Knowledge/Experience of working with Nokia Surepay and Ericsson HSS
