Applies basic knowledge of engineering principles and practices to assigned tasks. Assists in specification, design and maintenance of test environment and instrumentation in support of product development and evaluation requirements. Assists in developing laboratory-controlled test processes to evaluate product performance. May conduct experiments, analyze data and document results. Works collaboratively with other engineering disciplines to meet new requirements.

Project Management - Familiarity with the basic elements of project management
Computer Based Data Acquisition - Able to select and configure appropriate computer based data acquisition equipment for a given measurement requirement. This role requires a working understanding of data acquisition principles including amplification, filtering, resolution, sample rate, and aliasing.
Fundamentals Of Measurements - Able to select the best sensor and signal conditioning equipment from an standard inventory for a requested measurement. Able to install sensors in a manner that will achieve accurate results. Must understand concepts of measurement range, precision, accuracy, and traceability.
Test System Design And Diagnostics - Able to set up and configure standard test equipment. Must have a solid understanding of sensors, computerized data acquisition and control systems, and how to select appropriate components for a given test requirement. Able to tune controls to achieve stable operation.

Education, Licenses, Certifications
College, University, or equivalent degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology required.
Some level of relevant work experience a benefit. That could be COOP or summer Intern experience.
Develops & maintains parts of computer-based control and automation systems to support product development and evaluation on turbocharger test facilities worldwide.
Works closely with our Electronics Engineers, Mechanical Engineers, Instrumentation Technicians and Lab Ops Technicians to fault-find and upgrade our test facility control systems.
Evaluates the requirements of our component experts and functional specialists to develop and implement new control and test techniques.
Works as a member of the Test Technology Engineering group to ensure compatibility and effectiveness of test cell systems.
Specific Skills and Experience
Experience of the CyFlex control system.
Experience of configuring and fault-finding Gantner e-bloxx/q-bloxx data acquisition hardware.
Experience of CAN/Modbus architecture.
Experience of structured software development, or similar structured processes, in an automotive testing environment.
Experience of working in a test laboratory environment and an awareness of the potential hazards is desirable.
Experience of mechanical and/or electronics systems would be advantageous.
