Continually pushing the boundaries of innovation and redefining the benchmark for excellence, we set the standards others want to follow. We want to keep it that way too. Which is where you join the journey.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Using state-of-the-art facilities, you’ll provide the power behind our vehicles working in our Powertrain Engineering team. You'll find the ideal balance between performance and sustainability, while responding to the environmental issues that shape our industry.
As the Engine Test Facilities Engineer, you’ll operate within the Powertrain Engine Test Facilities department by supporting, maintaining, modifying, troubleshooting and calibrating the engine test equipment and plant equipment to meet internal customers’ engine test program and testing needs. Reporting into the Engine Test Facilities Manager, you’ll work both autonomously and as part of a
Larger team, engaging with operators, customers and external specialists.
You’ll maintain and set up test beds with engine test equipment as required, as well as adhere to quality standards to provide calibrated engine test beds and equipment. Given the environment you’ll be working in, you must also adhere to Health and Safety guidelines, provide a safe working environment for all staff, and ensure that the building and testing of new test bed equipment complies with safety and machines at work guidelines. Due to the tight deadlines in Powertrain Test and Operations you must work shifts as required to meet project needs and undertake any other work as directed from time to time. Travel may be required to other Jaguar Land Rover sites globally as required.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
With a passion for the automotive industry, you’ll have an engineering qualification with relevant experience in engine test bed equipment calibration, installation, commissioning and maintenance activities, along with engine test bed equipment application experience including services, fuels and air cooling systems.
In addition, you’ll possess excellent communication skills, the ability to work individually and as part of a team and an analytical approach to problem solving. Good planning and time management skills are essential, as is strong attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines.
Bring all this to the home of premium innovation, and you will find the opportunities to further your career with a world-class team. As well as the impressive benefits that all our employees receive (including a privilege car purchase scheme, competitive pension scheme and 26 days holiday entitlement), there are some additional benefits open to our Managers. This includes access to our highly competitive Employee Car Ownership (ECO) scheme which provides a Jaguar, Land Rover or Ford brand car at extremely favourable cost compared to traditional company car lease schemes. In addition to the car scheme we provide private health cover (which includes travel insurance) and performance-related bonus schemes. All this and more makes Jaguar Land Rover the perfect place to continue your journey.
Jaguar Land Rover is committed to equal opportunity for all.
