Job Description

An exciting opportunity to join our team as a Test Program Engineer has arisen within Airbus Defence & Space in Newport. We are looking for you to be able to demonstrate network knowledge including test analysis, test planning and scripting. Your remit will be to develop test materials pertaining to the Information Systems (IS) elements of the NATO Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) system as part of the UK test team.

The position will be based in Newport; however some travel to Naples, The Netherlands and Brussels may be required.

The role will require you to have or be able to obtain relevant Security Clearance.

Tasks & Accountabilities

Your main tasks and responsibilities will include:

Produce Test Stage plans for integration and acceptance test phases of the communications networks
Prepare Test Stage scripts detailing testing steps, data and expected results
Track and report test progress against stage test phase execution schedules
Contribute to the production of reporting
Assist in the definition of the test environment configuration as required
Support integration test activities including test execution, verification of results and capture defects /non-compliance

Required skills

We are looking for applicants with the following skills and experience:

Educated to ONC diploma level in a science/ engineering based subject
Formal qualifications in testing (Foundation level of ISEB Software Testing)
Demonstrable experience a Test Management and Defect Management tool e.g. HP ALM
Understanding of Problem, Change, Release and Configuration Management processes
Relevant manufacturers or technical courses (i.e. Oracle, SQL)
Experience of complex projects with multiple suppliers using a range of delivery and test approaches
Knowledge and experience of IEEE829 and BS7925-2
Understanding of Problem, Change, Release and Configuration Management processes
Demonstrable knowledge of security testing
Experience with working with PKI solutions - desirable
Experience in use of Microsoft Project or similar planning tool – desirable
