Job Summary

As a Technician you will be part of a large established and experienced national civil engineering team, with a base in AECOM’s multidisciplinary Chelmsford office. You will have the opportunity to progress your career through working on a diverse range of significant development infrastructure projects (across all stages of development), for a range of Clients. You will also have the opportunity to be part of a proactive learning environment within a wider national community of infrastructure engineers.

Job Duties

*

Undertake aspects of civil infrastructure design with appropriate supervision, using appropriate design software.

*

Be able to understand, review and communicate software outputs based on relevant first principles.

*

Provide a right first time, client focused service which results in on-going satisfaction and repeat business.

*

Build effective relationships within teams and staff from other disciplines.

*

Work in an organised way, checking work, in accordance with appropriate corporate standards.

*

Take a proactive approach to developing your own skills.

Minimum Requirements

*

Familiarity with relevant design software including, Infraworks, Civils 3D, Microdrainage and other related design software.

*

Awareness and understanding of BIM and coordinated 3D infrastructure design.

*

A blend of early career design experience in some of the following: design of highways, access roads, junctions, roundabouts and infrastructure (including road geometry, vehicle tracking, public realm, earthworks, pavements, drainage and underground services).

*

An understanding of the corresponding relevant first principles and design standards.

*

An awareness of drainage design from first principles, including piped systems, SuDS based systems and familiarity with storage design and computer programs such as MicroDrainage;

Preferred Qualifications

Relevant work experience will be considered in place of qualifications
