Overview / Responsibilities

Wood is currently recruiting for a Technical Publications and Information Management Manager to lead the Technical Publications and Information Management (TPIM) department within Operations Management Solution (OMS) in the UK.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all activities undertaken by the TPIM UK department, covering 50+ employees and 6 discipline teams based in both Aberdeen and Hull, and working across various projects and managed service contracts, ranging across strategic, small value and high value projects.

They will be responsible for the effective management, implementation and leadership of specific documentation projects, including Information Management, Business and Safety Management System content, Operations Readiness and Assurance content and Safety Cases, as well as the development and delivery of bespoke technical standards, policies and procedures.

Also responsible for managing, supporting and developing resources across the TPIM teams (IMDC, Editorial, Electronic Publishers, Technical Graphics and Technical Authors), including recruitment, training, talent development, team cross-training, competency assessment and progression.

Principal accountabilities include:

* Interfacing with potential clients to define and win new scopes of work
* Interfacing with existing clients to develop new business opportunities, improvement and growth
* Establishing TPIM Services as the provider of choice within Wood
* Preparing commercial bids, tenders and quotations
* Managing budgets, costs and resourcing across teams, contracts and projects
* Preparing monthly cost and progress reports and attending client performance review meetings
* Nurturing ongoing client relationships and suggesting continuous improvement
* Implementing and maintaining new business strategies and project control processes to ensure that best practice is consistently achieved
* Delivering excellence in execution
* Providing guidance and advice on production and documentation issues as necessary
* Account Manager for specific client contracts, acting as key client focal point and managing all associated activities, including comms, risk, budget, planning and delivery
* Managing, supporting and developing resources across the TPIM teams (covering Editorial, Technical Authors, Electronic Publishers, Technical Graphics, Information Management and Document Control, Print Room), including recruitment and talent management
* Responsible for recruitment within Technical Publications and Information Management Services (advertising, selection, interview process, feedback etc)
* Identifying and managing workload requirements or shortfalls, aiming to maximise utilization
* Acting on any cost and progress shortfalls as soon as these are identified and implement recovery plans

Skills / Qualifications

Qualifications:

* Educated to degree (or equivalent)
* Demonstrable background in the delivery of technical publications and information management services and / or projects
* 10 years’ experience in Energy sector
* 5 years in a management / lead position
* Demonstrable experience of leading a multi-disciplined team
* Demonstrable experience of delivery excellence across multiple contracts / projects
