Technical Publications Engineer
To create and revise Boeing Commercial Airplane technical publications using a variety of automated research tools and authoring systems.
To produce high quality new and revised Aircraft Maintenance Manual tasks, Component Maintenance Manuals and Service Bulletins for the Boeing Airplane Company, extracting information from various sources, which meets Boeings expectations of high technical and format accuracy.
•Analyze engineering designs and design changes to determine maintenance/repair/retrofit requirements, procedures and instructions.
•Perform detailed analysis and interpretation of source data and make corrections as appropriate.
•Make changes as required. Mark up illustrations and submit using established procedures.
•Use effective communication to work through problems and ensure timely delivery of authoring tasks.
•Develop maintenance, repair and retrofit procedures and techniques of moderate scope and complexity that guide end-users to change, maintain and restore product into a usable condition.
•Provide recommendations through the use of design principles, engineering specifications, regulatory requirements and maintenance operations requirements.
•Build long-term relationships with customers by delivering quality products.
Degree in Engineering classification (or equivalent) is preferred but not required or 3-4 years' experience in related discipline.
Prior technical writing experience or any combination of the following is preferred: FAA or EASA maintenance licenses, i.e. FAA Airframe and Power Plant license. Hands-on aircraft maintenance experience. FAA/EASA Flight Certification. Direct experience authoring Boeing Commercial Airplane technical Manuals.
