Based at the Heathrow West Project in London, UK, this role manages third party stakeholder engagement activity for a pre-application and application phase of a Nationally Significant Infrastructure Project. The role includes building relationships through proactive and reactive engagement activity, and acts as a trusted point of contact for project stakeholders including statutory and non-statutory bodies (including environment and technical organisations). The role includes:

* Manages the timely integration of technical stakeholder inputs to engineering design.

* Ensures legal compliance and maintains appropriate records and documentation related to engagement activities. Supports development and delivery of plans for engaging with technical stakeholders.

* Acts as interface between design team members and consultants, and technical stakeholders, coordinate across disciplines and consultants to identify technical stakeholder engagement requirements and coordinate engagement activities.

* Identifies, raises awareness of, and as needed escalate, risks and issues to enable the timely resolution of technical stakeholder concerns.

* Receives functional guidance from the Regional or Global Sustainability team and Engineering Managers

* Maintains relationships with external stakeholders including Statutory Environmental Bodies

* Close working relationship with Design team and consultants, Engagement and Consultation team and Consents manager

* Maintains good working relationships with wider project team and consultants

Essential Job Duties

* Supports the Engagement and Consultation Lead in the effective and timely delivery of the engagement plan to ensure technical stakeholders are aware of the project; its benefits and local impacts, and how they can engage with the project

* Works with Consents Manager to understand and manage DCO requirements for technical stakeholder engagement

* Develop and manages relationships with technical stakeholders to facilitate timely engagement activities and understand stakeholder interests and issues

* Organise, facilitate and contribute to stakeholder meetings and events, to achieve the engagement plan objectives.

* Work with design team to address and resolve issues and reduce risks through design development

* Analysis of feedback from engagement activities identifying and reporting relevant trends, risks and opportunities as appropriate.

* Collation and monitoring of engagement records, ensuring: all actions are followed up; all records of activities are up to date and documented in line with procedures and legal requirements.

* Contribute to the training and development of project staff to provide an effective understanding of various project interfaces.

JOB KNOWLEDGE

* Engineering Degree or other relevant Degree

* Relevant professional membership desirable

* Knowledge of working to procedures and core engineering processes preferable

* Proven experience of contributing to effective stakeholder engagement in high-profile, complex projects (preferably construction or infrastructure)

* Proven experience of integrating stakeholder inputs to engineering design

* Experience of building and maintaining relationships with both internal and external stakeholders

* Experience of interface management between stakeholders, including but not limited to technical stakeholders and design teams

* Experience of working with and coordinating inputs from multidisciplinary teams on a variety of issues or projects

* Strong planning and organisational skills

* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

* Ability to absorb, record, organise and analyse large quantities of complex information and to communicate effectively to a range of audiences

* Ability to manage competing priorities and work to deadlines
