Position: Technical Director - Ground Risk and Remediation
Based: Edinburgh

About the role:

RPS is looking for a highly motivated Technical Director to join the Ground Risk and Remediation Team in our Edinburgh office.
We need you to have an excellent technical understanding and solid experience in land contamination and ground engineering projects, particularly in the context of multidisciplinary development and infrastructure projects. A great track record of EPA Part IIA contaminated land sites and working with or for local authorities would be advantageous.
The role will particularly suit a motivated and proven leader who is interested working in a growing Ground Risk and Remediation team that has resources across the whole of the UK with a fantastic portfolio of diverse projects and clients.

Key responsibilities:

? Provide site investigation, contaminated land and ground engineering consultancy advice to client
? Managing a team of consultants
? Act as Project Manager and Project Director, contributing towards the success of the office through the effective delivery of projects and ensuring development of key client relationships and the securing of new business.

Ideal skills/expertise required:

? BSc in earth sciences/environmental/ground engineering discipline
? MSc in earth sciences/environmental/ground engineering discipline
? Chartered geologist, scientist and/or engineer
? Strong and proven leadership skills
? Authoritative technical knowledge and expertise in own field
? Excellent awareness of local (Scottish) market and client base
? Ability to identify opportunities and securing new business / clients
? Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with team, colleagues, clients and external bodies.
? Strong financial and project management skills and a creative and strategic approach, financial and commercially astute
