Right now, our Chassis team is looking for dynamic, innovative and highly technical individuals to both lead and support the design of new cutting edge chassis systems. You’ll also be the owner of, or support the owner of, one or more complex mechatronic system designs while working with a small team of technical engineers and project leaders.
Ensuring technologies are designed to robust System Engineering processes and deployed across all programmes to time and budget will be key. That includes system architecture definition, requirements and test case authoring and elicitation, FMEA and Functional Safety content. Put simply, these are challenging but highly rewarding opportunities offering exposure to nearly all facets of vehicle development and multiple technical teams across the business.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
Based on your skills and/or experience, you may come on board as a Lead Systems Owner or in a supporting role with a view to developing your skills. Either way, you’ll need excellent skills in authoring system design from concept readiness to vehicle production, including eliciting and cascading stakeholder requirements and test cases. A track record of developing system architecture and decomposing it into sub-system requirements would be a real plus too, as would exposure to validating requirements and test cases.
Proven complex mechatronic system skills gained within a vehicle environment (e.g Aerospace/ Automotive/Defence) are also important, as is knowledge of system engineering methods, including boundary analysis, FMEA, architecture definition and use-case analysis. And, if you have an understanding of the DOORS requirement toolset and Model Based System design toolset and methods (e.g SysML or similar), even better. What is for certain is that you’re comfortable working with internal and external partners, presenting project design to forums at all levels and acting as a peer reviewer for other system engineers.
