The role

Dialog’s Custom Mixed Signal Business Unit (CMS) are responsible for the design of custom silicon solutions to precisely match customer requirements. Within this business unit the System Architecture and IP (SAIP) group are responsible for leading the product and custom IP definition. The SAIP group has four main areas of responsibility:

* Working with Marketing, Sales and the design teams to win business

* Driving technical innovation by generating new system concepts for future products

* Understanding our target applications and identifying future IP requirements

* Driving new IP development by taking concepts through to design and proving over-sight to the design effort

As part of this team you will be required to:

* Lead product definition and custom IP development.

* Work closely with key customers to understand their requirements and successfully propose solutions which lead to design wins.

* Provide consultation and guidance to marketing activities and participate at customer meetings as required.

* Capture customer technical requirements and translate these into formal technical specifications. Propose practical product architectures that fully meet their expectations.

* Define the technical requirements for new or custom IPs as required

* Support the design team during the execution of projects. Monitor IP/Product-development in order to make sure the development meets the agreed specification.

* Work closely with marketing, customers and other stakeholders to identify IP requirements for future applications and to drive innovation.

* Conduct competitive analysis in order to provide comparison of proposed devices to competitive devices.

* Generate innovative topologies and technologies that can be leveraged across future products to lead to performance boost or cost reduction.

What we are looking for

* Detailed technical experience in system definition/concept engineering within the ASIC semiconductor industry

* Very good system level understanding of mobile and portable products in consumer market domain

* Understanding of technical requirements and future trends in the areas of power management and mixed signal devices for mobile and portable consumer applications. Understanding of competitive solutions in same applications.

* Able to perform engineering calculations and to develop design concepts of high interest to customers using Dialog’s best practices. Improve specifications, workflows, calculations, feasibility practices and costs.

* Evidence of identifying new opportunities, defining roadmaps, and new products for new applications.

* Outstanding customer facing skills.

* Able to establish and maintain relationships with key customers, key field team, and engineering teams. Cooperating with support departments and functions (internal/external).

* Positive thinking, Excellent open communication skills (written and spoken).

* Goal driven, ability to set clear objectives and measure results.

* Master Degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering or comparable.

* Professional background in analog or mixed-signal chip design.

* Average 10 years of related work experience in mixed-signal ASIC development, preferably mostly in the area of integrated power management.
