Role Purpose
The role of Supply Chain Lead- Supply Chain Development, is accountable for providing best in class global supply chain development solutions to the function, the business and the group, delivering added value and supporting supply chain enabled competitive advantage.

The Supply Chain Lead- Supply Chain Development will be responsible for leading supply chain continuous improvement initiatives including in areas such as: supplier development, supply chain governance, assurance & auditing, supply chain systems, tools & processes, supply chain inclusion & sustainability and supply chain engagement, marketing and communication.

Key Accountabilities
Collaboratively develop plans with key stakeholders to ensure alignment of targets, improve supplier performance, and implement continuous improvement initiatives.

Lead and support peers in the complying with process, governance and controls as set out in QinetiQ’s Operating Framework.

Lead collaboration with peers to develop and enhance systems, process, and best practice sharing to help QinetiQ achieve best in class performance, and bring consistency to sourcing activities.

Lead and support peers in the promotion of inclusive and sustainable procurement.

Collaboratively develop innovative ways to communicate internally and externally to increase engagement.

Develop strong relationships with key stakeholders (internal/external) in order to influence and gain support for supply chain development initiatives.

Maintain awareness of the restrictions, controls and accreditations that are placed upon suppliers working in QinetiQ’s core markets.

Lead and collaborate across the supply chain and procurement team and with the wider business, to identify opportunities for supply chain development initiatives.

Excellent communicator and ability to build relationships with peers as a trusted advisor.

Ability to consider and evaluate the bigger picture whilst understanding the criticality of the details of delivery, risk and supply chain assurance.

Ability to operate and positively influence in a hybrid-matrix organisation.

Functional:
Strong knowledge of supplier development programmes and practical experience of the implementation of such programmes.

Strong knowledge and practical experience of supply chain governance and assurance.

Strong knowledge of procurement systems and infrastructure, to not only have an understanding, but also to evaluate appropriate application to enable continuous improvement.

Recent experience in the delivery of complex, multi-layered projects and supply chains through; flexibility, agility and imagination.

Recent experience and/or good understanding of the principles and delivery of; Strategic Sourcing, Category Management and Supply Chain Management.

Behavioural:
A role model in championing the value that supply chain management can offer.

Adaptability and appetite to develop innovative supply chain development solutions.

Delivery and achievement focused, managing conflicting priorities whilst working at pace.

Experience & Qualifications
Relevant degree in a Business or Engineering discipline, or equivalent experience.

Membership of Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (MCIPS) or studying towards MCIPS or equivalent.
5+ years in a Procurement, Supply Chain Management or related role.
