The Opportunity

An exciting and challenging opportunity has become available to lead the Station Supply Chain function to deliver value for money in the acquisition of all goods and services in support of safe, reliable generation.

The Person

The post holder will have responsibility for a team of up to 30 Supply Chain staff and a department budget of ~ £11m. Oversight of company spend ~ £25m and management of stock up to the value of £60m.

Ensure that Contractors Supplier and Supply Chain staff support safe and reliable operation of the plant and maintain full compli8ance within agreed safety and environmental standards and expectations. Apply human performance tools to enhance operation safety.

Lead the Supply Chain team to deliver functional and station business targets. Contribute to providing a controlled and stable supply chain environment through the application of agreed procurement strategies in addtion to the following;

* Provide commercial leadership for the station. Ensure that ‘value for money’ is obtained from the supply of all goods and services.

* Develop and refine the station acquisition plan using the appropriate procurement strategy.

* Provide commercial management of contracts including support for supplier appraisal, development of specifications, tender preparation, tender assessment, negotiation, placement, variation management, claim management and performance monitoring.

* Responsible for contract performance, coordination and management of all supplier and contractor activity in accordance with the targets set for safety, quality, delivery (time) and cost. This includes contracts for delivery during station outages.

* Encourage and support the development of partnerships with contractors to integrate them into BE systems and processes and joint ownership of works.

* Ensure compliance with the company’s Acquire Goods and Services Process (AGS), plus any other legislation, rules and procedures which may apply.

* Provide an efficient and timely materials management service including materials engineering, scheduling and inventory management to support all site Operations, Maintenance, Systems Health and Outage activities.

* Identify, understand and manage commercial risks and, when appropriate, to seek support from HQ, to minimise the companies risk exposure.

* Acts as station process owner for the AGS Process and/or peer group member, and carries out responsibilities as defined in BEG/SPEC/QUA/013 for the deployment and implementation of business process performance.

The Skills

Ideal applicants for this role will have formal qualifications; Degree and / or equivalent professional qualification coupled with MCIPS qualifications.

Competitive Salary & Benefits

The salary range is between £60,012 and £71,818, with terms and conditions covered by the EDF Energy Nuclear Generation Company Agreement. The starting salary for this appointment will be dependent of your existing salary, competence, experience and qualifications. You will receive 28 days annual holiday plus bank holidays, incremental and competency-based progression and a career average pension scheme.
