VolkerFitzpatrick is part of VolkerWessels UK, a
multi-disciplinary construction and civil engineering group operating across
the UK in six operating companies.

We are now looking for an experience Quality Engineer
to join the team working on the
ALIGN JV for HS2, ALIGN is a joint venture between Bouygues, VolkerFitzpatrick
and Sir Robert McAlpine, ans is delivering the C1 package of the UK High Speed
2 line (HS2). Lot C1 consists of 21.6km of high speed rail infrastructure in a
rural environment. This will include a 3.37km viaduct, 15.75km twin-bored
tunnel and five vent shafts handling both intervention and tunnel ventilation
facilities.

The Quality Engineer
shall ensure that the construction teams have requisite documents
developed, approved and distributed prior to works commencement, undertake and
record inspections and tests defined within ITPs, maintain contemporaneous
red-line as-built drawings, raise NCRs to cover deficient works and RFIs to
clarify issues and/or record technical decisions agreed.

The role shall initially be based at our Euston Office before
moving to our Maple Cross/Uxbridge site in 2020

Responsibilities-

* Undertake Site Surveillance in conjunction with
Surveillance Manager

* Daily execution and recording of self-certification
of works against ITPs, method statements and plans

* Ensuring adherence to sampling rates
stipulated within ITPs
Collection, collation, review and reporting
of laboratory test reports

* Expediting the timely close-out of areas of
concern
Ensuring the issue of NCRs by construction
teams, as necessary

* Ensuring works are subject to surveillance to
ensure their adherence to requirements of ITPs and method statements

* Promote self-certification principles within
construction teams

Skills and Experience –

* Significant
prior background in deep excavations, reinforced concrete structures, TBM
tunnelling, SCL as applicable to assigned area of works

* A working knowledge of UK rail and
construction standards and working practices.
Demonstrable knowledge of system engineering
and control.

* The post holder should be educated to HND,
HNC or foundation degree level or equivalent in an engineering discipline.

* Business and commercial awareness

* Be an Associate Member (IEng) of the Chartered Quality
Institute (or an equivalent recognised quality body) or an appropriate
engineering institute or be able to demonstrate the ability to become a member
on an appropriate professional body – desirable but not essential
