About the role
Structural Engineer - Responsible for carrying out detailed structural engineering calculations. As part of a Structural Engineer’s day to day duties, they will work closely with the Structural Project Manager and Revit Technician to deliver a project that meets both the clients’ requirements and all relevant codes of practice and legislation.

What you will do
As a Structural Engineer you will be responsible for the preparation of structural design’s and design calculations. This will include, liaising and coordinating with clients and other construction professionals throughout the design and construction process. As well as;
Developing detailed structural engineering designs.
Discussing requirements with the client and other professionals.
Providing complete structural design calculations.
Undertaking technical and feasibility studies and site investigations.
Notify Project Managers of potential design changes
Thinking both creatively and logically to resolve design problems.
Reviewing project drawings.
Deal with day to day queries from site.
Ensuring compliance with the latest CDM regulations.
Your experience will include
Candidates will have either a Civil or Structural Engineering Degree with upwards of 2 years post graduate experience. Proven experience in building engineering projects , a good working knowledge of Eurocodes and a strong understanding of UK construction practices will be essential prerequisites. You will also be progressing towards obtaining chartership with the IStructE or ICE. Similarly, experience in the use of FEA software packages and/or AutoDesk Revit will be advantageous.
Successful candidates will demonstrate a strong understanding of concrete and steel building design and construction.
High accuracy and attention to detail.
Skilled in PC usage and associated software including Microsoft Office.
Able to work with minimal supervision, efficiently schedule and manage time.
Capable of working to and achieving targets.
In addition, successful applicants must pass a Criminal Records Bureau check (to enhanced level) and will require a full UK driving Licence.
