We are looking to recruit a Steam Raising Plant (SRP) Technical Engineer; reporting to the Maintenance Manager you will be tasked with maintaining Steam Plant assets in line with PPM, improving performance and efficiency of operational assets and activities, as well as providing technical support to the team and wider business.
The SRP Technical Engineer will hold responsibility in preparation of both large steam boilers and waste heat boilers for annual servicing work, PPM and rectification of issues (both mechanical and electrical). This role will also support the wider team by ensuring boilers run efficiently through regularly servicing and testing of burners. Areas of poor SRP performance should be recognised and highlighted appropriately to the wider team focusing on inefficiencies and Health and Safety issues.
This role covers the full Anglian Water region and focusses on the 17 Steam boilers that are central to our Advanced Digestion plant and renewable energy strategy.
Water Recycling is at the heart of our operations. The key services that we are responsible for are delivered by our in-house, highly-skilled workforce. We collect and treat the water that customers have used, returning it to the environment via rivers and coastal outlets. Our network includes 76,000 kilometres of sewers which feed 1,124 water recycling centres. You will also be required to undertake projects across the region to optimise function, install new equipment and drive enhancements of performance and resilience. You’ll make sure health and safety procedures are at the heart of everything we do. Procuring goods and services as required to keep the process flowing at the best possible value for our customers and us.
You will need the following:
• Appropriate qualifications such as NVQ 3, City & Guilds 1 & 2, or a relevant ONC / BTEC.
• City & Guilds boiler qualification / BOAS CERTIBO / DIPBOM or equivalent experience working with Steam Raising Plant / Steam Boilers.
• Water Treatment Plant experience.
• Experience working on Dual Fuel Burners ie Dunphy.
• Experience working on Spirax Sarco steam boiler level controls, pressure reducing valves and Easiheat plate exchangers would be advantageous.
• Experience of Health and Safety and Environmental legislation.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Confidence and ability to deal with people at all levels
• IT skills
You’ll need a flexible approach to working hours as you may be required to provide 24 hour operational service including weekends should the need arise.
