Site Reliability Engineering develop & maintain systems at huge scale, storing huge quantities of data. We work with performance and monitoring data to enhance customer experience every day and process this to automatically create alerts and present our users with information through intuitive dashboards and web applications.

We work with a huge range of open source tooling such as Docker, Kubernetes, Prometheus, and more, and use cloud platforms such as AWS and GCP. We develop using a wide range of technology including React/React Native, PHP, Python and Go.

What you’ll do:

Join a team responsible maintaining and improving the reliability and customer experience of Sky’s Global OTT platform. The role is focused on development & monitoring with support responsibilities, using a wide range of technologies to bring our data to life.

As a member of SRE, you’ll help drive improvements and create new functionality on our platforms to provide real-time data, automation and insights to our development teams

- Work with a wide range of stakeholders to create solutions from concept stage to production
- Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain and improve software
- Creating exciting and engaging ways of presenting and interacting with the vast amounts of data we hold using modern web and/or app technologies
- Be keen to solve difficult technical challenges with creative solutions
- Research and develop new tools, technologies and ways of working and sharing this with the team in our regular showcases.

What you’ll bring:

- 2 years’ commercial experience – but we’re also happy to consider candidates who can demonstrate their skills elsewhere, such as side projects or open-source contributions
- A passion for technology with skills in the following areas: JavaScrip, React and/or React Native, HTML / CSS, Working with APIs (REST/GraphQL) and state management tools such as Redux, Design tools such as Photoshop, Sketch or XD, and an eye for clean, simple UI/UX design, A modern approach to web development, and a passion for learning, personal development and adopting new technologies
- Ideally, you’ll be keen to learn about and use: Node, Cloud (GCP and AWS),Modern web development workflows (Babel, NPM, Webpack), Continuous integration, ideally with Git/Jenkins and Kubernetes
- We’re looking for individuals who are: Excited by using cutting edge technology, Are creative thinkers, driven by building creative solutions to problems; Able to communicate complex information in a simple way, Have a structured approach to work, Think beyond their areas of responsibility, and enjoy working closely with team members and working collaboratively
