Engineering Apprenticeship Programme Overview:
Pre-Apprenticeship Year
The Enhanced Engineering Programme is a Welsh Government recognised pre-Apprenticeship Qualification. During this pre-apprenticeship year, Tata Steel will monitor your performance, whilst you work towards an NVQ Level 2 in Performing Engineering Operations with a Level 3 Engineering Qualification at a local college.
As a Tata sponsored College student, you will achieve:
* Enhanced Engineering Programme (previously known as Pathways to Apprenticeships)
* FE/ HE Academic Engineering Qualification (e.g. Level 3 Diploma) for Electrical engineering;
* NVQ Level 2 in Performing Engineering Operations;
* Digital Literacy
Subject to satisfactory completion of the college course and the company’s business needs, it is the company’s hope that it will be in a position to offer an apprenticeship if suitable apprenticeship vacancies are available at that time. The Tata Steel paid Mechanical apprenticeship programme is as follows:
Year 1 : Salary £13,720
As a Paid Tata Apprentice, you will:
* Study a Level 3 Extended Diploma in Engineering;
* Start your NVQ Level 3 Qualification in Engineering Maintenance;
* Undertake further training courses and projects.
* Progress Tata Steel’s competency knowledge & skills units in line with your job profile, and to the agreed business standards.
Year 2 : Salary £16,223
In your second year, you will:
* Continue with your NVQ Level 3 Qualification in Engineering Maintenance;
* Be eligible to apply to start an HNC in Engineering
* Undertake further training courses and projects.
* Progress Tata Steel’s competency knowledge & skills units in line with your job profile, and to the agreed business standards.
Year 3 : Salary £18,642
In the final year of your apprenticeship you will:
* Complete your NVQ Level 3 Qualification in Engineering Maintenance
* Complete Tata Steel’s competency knowledge & skills units in line with your job profile, and to the agreed business standards.
The Candidate
If you have (or are expecting to achieve) 5 GCSEs or equivalent (including English, Mathematics and Science) at Grades A* - C or level 4 – 9, you can apply to join the Enhanced Engineering Programme.
In order to be considered for this position, you must be able to provide during the selection process evidence of the qualifications specified.
