Job Description

We are looking for an ambitious Software Test Engineer to join Airbus Defence & Space in Portsmouth. You will join our NMS Product team, a team of 20+ engineers including system engineers, software developers/testers.

The group run a number of projects so there is opportunity for a variety of roles/projects within the group over time, all run using agile/scrum. You will also help define and lead the evolution of our automated testing.

You will have proven knowledge and experience of testing in an agile development environment delivering software solutions and will join a scrum team to deliver functionality for new products and solutions to UK and international customers. Testing will involve automated testing as well as functional testing as required.

You will need to be eligible able to gain UK SC Security Clearance to undertake the role.

Tasks and Responsibilities



Creation and execution of automated tests from both manual test procedures and system/sub-system requirements specifications / user story behaviour descriptions.



Design, build, test and deploy effective test automation solutions



Creation of automation reports and analysis of results to report testing effectiveness.



Working with developers to diagnose and rectify software problems.



Support mapping of tests to requirements to show satisfactory test coverage



Creation of Tickets (JIRA) to describe faults identified in the system under test.

Required Skills and Experience



Experience of software developments using Agile methodology



Experience in various automation tool suites - ideally Selenium, Cucumber, Rational Functional Tester



Strong test automation skills within a continuous integration environment



Manual testing experience



Experience with issue tracking systems
