WHAT TO EXPECT
Using state-of-the-art facilities, you’ll provide the power behind our vehicles working in our Powertrain Engineering team. You'll find the ideal balance between performance and sustainability while responding to the environmental issues that shape our industry.
The Lead Software Project Engineer and Lead Software Verification Engineer roles are key in delivering high-quality software into multiple engine and control projects.
The Lead Software and Verification Engineers will work closely with the Project Management team, Supplier and Control System Design teams to lead the implementation and test of all software functions and features. Throughout, they will require a significant focus on quality to ensure the software creation and verification is conducted according to Jaguar Land Rover’s quality processes and that it is compliant with relevant standards (including ASPICE). They will also play a pivotal role in developing and improving processes and tools to further the efficiency and quality of the development lifecycle.
Taking either role, you’ll work in a model-based development environment and lead the creation of software from controls system designs by defining the techniques and methods for autocode configuration. You’ll also have responsibility to lead and undertake software-in-the-loop tests (including code coverage) and to manage software integrations and builds as part of controlling software projects, ensuring all software quality steps are followed.
In addition, you’ll focus on test management and test automation as well as leading the functional and interface testing by utilising hardware-in-the-loop rigs and through in-vehicle testing. Working with the Control System Design, HiL and Calibration teams, you’ll lead the development of test cases and will support the team in identifying and analysing bugs and issues with the software. You’ll also have a responsibility to ensure test sign-off reports are produced to the required standard.
For these roles, it is vital that candidates will demonstrate experience of leading the development and delivery of complex control software projects from concept to series production and engaging in liaison at both a detailed technical and a management level to effectively control the software delivery and verification aspects of projects.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
To be successful, you’ll come with proven experience of leading the software implementation or verification within either a software development or software / functional test role, delivering a real-time embedded control application while working at a technical level with suppliers and reporting to management. Your experience will encompass the full embedded software development lifecycle, software project control and reporting, quality processes, test environments and tools (MATLAB, Simulink, dSPACE, TargetLink, Embedded Coder, CAN, FlexRay) ETAS INCA and also Change and Version Configuration Management tools such as RTC.
Bring all this to the home of premium innovation, and you’ll find the opportunities to further your career with a world-class team, a discounted car purchase and lease scheme for you and your family, membership of a competitive pension plan and a performance-related bonus scheme. All this and more makes Jaguar Land Rover the perfect place to continue your journey.
