What I need to do

• Support the Product Owner and other business stakeholders by advising on the practicability of solution alternatives, marrying up technical limitations with operational realities and providing recommendations

• Work with the Software Engineering Manager, Scrum Master, Test Engineers and Software Engineers as a part of an agile team

• Undertake all roles required as a part of an agile development team to design, build and deploy bespoke applications in line with business needs and priorities

• Ensure that all deliverables are completed in a timely manner and to the appropriate level of quality so that the delivered solutions are fit-for purpose, can be efficiently supported and the impact of future change requests can be assessed

• Contribute to post implementation reviews to incorporate learnings into future work

• Provide 3rd line support to the applications, including rota based out of hours support

• Look out for new technologies and use them when they fit

• Take responsibility, own the issue and resolve them by identifying and working with the relevant individuals

• Reflect constructively and remain positive when faced with setbacks and continue to work towards a solution. Consider the impact of decisions and reviews decision as required

• Take advantage of every opportunity to communicate relevant information remaining mindful of the audience (e.g. translate complex/technical issues to meet the audience's competency level)

How I will succeed

• Deliver clean, high quality, testable code within estimates

• Ensure documentation is maintained to required standards

• Maintain an interest in the latest technologies and how they can be incorporated to improve the output of the team and be used in greenfield development

• Share knowledge with the team and provide mentorship to increase efficiency and improve standards within the team

• See unit testing as a benefit, not a chore, adopting a Test Driven Development first approach

What I need to know
