Aveillant has developed an innovative new holographic radar technology platform and now benefits from being a part of Thales, a global aerospace and defence business and a world leader in radar. Holographic radar is at the forefront of a digital transformation that is beginning to happen across the traditional defence and aerospace industries. Our software defined radar uses the latest data capture hardware to acquire large volumes of real-time big data; using advanced data processing techniques and artificial intelligence (AI) we transform this into meaningful information that enable our customers to take critical decisions.


As part of the 25 person Aveillant team we are seeking talented software engineers at all levels of experience to work on Holographic Radar, our next generation software defined radar platform. As part of the software development team you will be working with other highly motivated experts to deliver exciting new products and major enhancements to our customers. The software ranges from device level real time embedded data capture, through intensive real time data processing (GPU/CPU) to a GUI for user interaction. As part of an agile team you will be expected to work across the complete product lifecycle from requirements to customer support.

Skills and Experience


* Software requirements analysis and object-oriented design
* Strong C++
* Linux Operating System
* Software configuration management tools and processes (e.g. JIRA/Subversion)
* Keen to work with other experts in a fast-moving Agile team
* Good teamworking and communication skills
* Willingness to travel occasionally worldwide for short periods


The following would be an advantage but not essential:

* Python
* GPU technology/CUDA
* Qt cross platform library
* Ethernet/IP networking
* Mathematical or signal processing background
* Prior experience working in the aerospace or defence industries
* Software assurance processes, methods and tools (e.g. ED-109A/DO-178C/IEC-61508, MISRA etc.)
* MatLab or similar analytical programming language


Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, Physics, Mathematics or equivalent.
