Preferred Qualifications
Oracle Application Express (APEX) is a declarative, rapid web application development tool for the Oracle Database. The Oracle APEX development team is looking for an experienced Release Engineer / Continuous Integration Specialist to work on Oracle APEX builds and releases. This person will be responsible for the management and enhancement of the existing build processes, automated testing integration, bug triaging and source code control systems. They should be skilled in innovating, developing, and maintaining build and configuration management, and possess strong documentation skills for capturing and publishing process, procedure, and tool descriptions or improvements.
Required Skills:
- Strong problem solving, analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Extensive experience working with a continuous integration system, such as Hudson (preferred), or similar.
- Strong proficiency with Linux server operating systems
- Strong cross-platform scripting skills (Bash, Shell, make, Windows Batch)
- Detailed understanding of package management systems, including npm, RPM, Yum
- Implementation Experience crafting the software release process, automating software builds & unit test integration
- Strong background with source control system, such as Subversion (preferred), Git, or other version control tools.
- Knowledge of Database Administration
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail, as well as excellent time management skillsDetailed Description and Job Requirements
Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.
As a member of the software engineering division, you will take an active role in the definition and evolution of standard practices and procedures. You will be responsible for defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, designing and debugging of software applications or operating systems.
Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 7 years of software engineering or related experience.
