JOB TITLE: Software Architect

SALARY: £35,000 - £43,000

The electrification electronics software development engineer will be a key role in development of JLR’s future vehicles programs. The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance of all software function I/O (Input/Output) specifications for the High Voltage (HV) electronics charging systems.

The role will involve agreeing the I/O for each software function with the software development engineers and ensuring that the function can be integrated with electronics hardware suppliers. Once the software has been produced the software development engineer will need to ensure rigs (HIL) are available to test the integrated software on the target electronics control module.


It is essential that you have experience of deriving solutions from first principle and use of process flow and logic flow diagrams.

You will need to have knowledge of the software development process, knowledge of the software data types needed to create a software interface specification and knowledge of the software integration process.

It is also essential that you have experience of Test rig set up using appropriate development tools (eg CANoe/Matlab/Simulink or similar)

Although not essential, it is desirable that you also possess the following:

• Experience with the use of CANoe for data measurement and software test rig setup.

• Use of software calibration tools,

• Knowledge of ASPICE

• Functional Safety knowledge (ISO26262)

• Development of electronic rigs to help with software testing and debugging.

• Knowledge of Cyber security systems and techniques

• Failure mode avoidance techniques

• Use of logic/process flow diagrams.

• MIL (Model In the Loop) testing techniques.
