The role

The Software and Controls Engineer will support both the Royston and Brimsdown sites with implementation of automation safety management standards and policies with a focus on cyber security.

The main purpose of this role is to ensure that delivery of safe automation solutions for the process/machinery domain within the Dual Site EC&I Team. Initially, this will by writing cyber security standards and policies that can be used for both new control systems and management of existing systems.

This role also includes upgrading the site control systems and networks. The Software and Controls Engineer will drive through upgrades such as manufacturing cyber security and functional safety. The primary focus of this role is to work closely with Operations, Maintenance, and Process Safety and Group IT to develop and implement the Industrial Automation Cyber Security Management System across both sites.

You

Ideally you will have:

* Engineering degree, HNC, or equivalent in Electrical, Control or Instrumentation.

* Solid industrial work experience. (chemical industry preferable)

* Experience of managing cyber security in industrial automation systems (preferably with experience of og-0086 or IEC 62443).

* Familiar with standards related to control systems safety (such as IEC 61511, IEC 61508, IEC 60204-1, IEC 62061, ISO 13849, ISO 12100).

* Proven experience working in control and instrumentation.
