Job Summary

We are currently searching for Signalling Design engineers to join us here at AECOM and to be based in the Glasgow offices. You will join a thriving team focusing on several rail projects throughout the UK.

AECOM has been awarded the DSF contract which is valued at £400 million over the next five years and we also undertake the design services for the Rail Systems Alliance (RSAS) which is a 10 year 3-billion-pound framework.

This contract is being used successfully to instruct several additional works (Enhancements) including High Speed 2 preparatory works at London Euston and the new station site at Old Oak Common; major track remodelling schemes and early Development programmes of work that ultimately feed into the Core contract works.

Other project focuses include:

West Coast Mainline Speed Improvements

*

DSF National Darlington Station

*

Fratton Depot Enhancements

*

WCML Power Upgrades

*

Edinburgh South Suburban Upgrade

*

VAMOS level crossings upgrades

Role:

*

Produce detailed signalling design,undertake surveys and track plans

*

Contribute to the preparation of technical details, specifications and tenders for Signalling projects

*

Monitor own performance and the progress of own work ensuring that potential variations are highlighted and appropriately managed

*

Contribute to the planning, programming and monitoring of resources to meet programme and budget requirements and targets

*

Perform duties as directed by Management from time to time in connection with Signalling design activities

*

Discharge safety responsibilities in relation to CDM and CSM Regulations, Health and Safety legislation and Company procedures

Desirable skills:

*

IRSE Licenses- willing to consider various engineering levels

*

Experience in the use of Microstation CAD

*

Experience in signalling site surveys and correlation

*

Experience of signalling design between 5 & 10

Minimum Requirements

Specific Skills Required:

*

Experience in the use of Microstation CAD

*

Experience in signalling site surveys and correlation

Preferred Qualifications

* Bachelors of Degree in Engineering filed
