Shift Process Technician (electrical or mechanical) for Cement / GGBS / Operations

A vacancy has arisen for a Shift Process Technician at our Scunthorpe plant, reporting to the Works Manager.
The successful candidate will have a good knowledge of process operations and have served a recognised apprenticeship in Mechanical or Electrical disciplines and fully understand the importance of maintaining high health, safety, environmental and quality standards.
Your duties will include safe operation of a computer based manufacturing process and product despatch, routine plant maintenance, product quality checks and maintaining excellent housekeeping standards
The successful candidate will work within a shared 6am-2pm, 2pm-10pm, 10pm-6am shift rota Monday to Friday. The shift pattern includes a Saturday 6am-2pm once every three weeks. Candidates will also need to be flexible in their approach to working hours as there may be occasional requirements for adjustments to working hours and overtime to cover planned maintenance, holidays, sickness and training.

Purpose of / Responsibilities of the role
Maintaining the health and safety of self and others.
Operate the Calumite production process and equipment to meet specified product quality and quantity.
Accurately carry out all in-process testing.
Load Calumite finished product into tankers and tippers.
Carry out plant maintenance and inspections.
Skills / Experience
Experience working to health and safety, environmental and quality procedures.
Maintenance skills and qualifications (electrical or mechanical).
Experience working with processing plants and associated equipment.
Basic I.T. skills (use of Windows based software).
Ability to work with minimal supervision.

Shift Description: Rotating shift pattern 6am-2pm, 2pm-10pm, 10pm-6am Monday to Thursday. 6am-2pm and 2pm-10pm Friday. 6-2 Saturday (Calumite Operatives work one Saturday shift every 3 weeks).
