Job Summary

We are looking to enhance and grow our Streets team with individuals that share our enthusiasm and determination to deliver Traffic and Local & Urban Roads schemes.

This Streets team is located in Croydon and forms part of the Roads team which has an established track record of successfully delivering traffic engineering projects.

Projects:

Our Streets team is involved in a number of high-profile projects with a variety of clients in the UK. A selection of our current and recent projects includes:

*

Thames Tideway Tunnel – Highway Layout and Traffic Management Design

*

Royal Borough of Greenwich – Town Centre Improvement

*

Central Bedfordshire Council – Station Interchange, Traffic Calming and Cycling schemes

*

Oxfordshire County Council – Housing Infrastructure Fund programme

You will:

*

Lead the road engineering design in detailed design

*

Produce technical design information including drawings, reports and specifications.

*

Collaborate with the wider project team and other engineering disciplines.

*

Assisting in work delegation and co-ordination to graduates and technicians.

*

​​​​​​​Produce deliverables to a high standard of quality against agreed timescales and within budget.

*

Responsible for varying aspects of project management, client communication, project delivery and project pursuits.

*

Undertaking of Health & Safety duties and fulfilling CDM designer responsibilities.Regularly communicate to the Principal Engineer/ Project Manager on project progress

Minimum Requirements

*

Demonstrate knowledge and experience of developing detailed design to traffic/local roads problems which include Alignment, Drainage, Pavement, Road Restraint System, Road Signs & Markings.

*

Knowledge or awareness of cycling design, traffic calming, Healthy Streets, junction design, and footway and carriageway renewal design.

*

Knowledge of local and national design standards including, but not limited to; TSRGD, Manual for Streets, DMRB, Streetscape guidance and Traffic Signs Manual.

*

Demonstrate understanding of Health and Safety including CDM responsibilities.

*

Advance knowledge of AutoCAD and MS Office applications.

Desirable Experience:

*

MS Project knowledge.

*

Construction site experience and buildability awareness.

*

Road Safety engineering, audit or design experience.

*

Experience of AutoCAD Civil 3D & Microstation.

*

Pavement & Drainage Design experience.

*

Urban realm design experience.

*

CSCS Card

Preferred Qualifications

*

B.Sc., BEng or MEng degree in Civil Engineering, or relevant Engineering discipline.

*

Chartership or working towards with a related institution such as ICE or CIHT.
