About the Role:

You will be working with our Civil & Structural Engineering teams across the UK on some of the most challenging and high profile education, leisure, healthcare and technology sector projects within the industry. Through collaboration with our unique specialist services teams you will bring added value to the projects we deliver for our clients.

This role is to work as part of our growing building structures team, taking a lead role in project work, focused on team management, design document production & delivery, client and stakeholder liaison and continuous improvement of the team’s skills, particularly in BIM strategy and sustainable design.

We would welcome applications from candidates wishing to work part-time or flexibly.

A typical week would include:

* Preparing innovative and sustainable designs for a huge range of projects

* Liaising closely with architects and co-professionals at project inception to establish project briefs

* Taking a lead role on multi-disciplinary projects

* Coordinating with mechanical & electrical engineers, geotechnical engineers, landscape architects and other specialists

* Preparing feasibility and options studies

* Assessing sites and buildings for their potential for re-use

* Carrying out embodied carbon assessments to inform decision-making at all stages of projects

* Using digital tools to improve design and delivery of projects

* Preparing bid documentation and submissions

* Helping support your team members and taking part in design reviews and staff development reviews

We'd love to hear from you if you have:

The candidate must have excellent inter-personal skills, with good leadership potential and be capable of communicating effectively with other members of the project team and stakeholders. The candidate is expected to demonstrate enthusiasm for sustainable design and digital delivery

We'd love to hear from you if you are a competent engineer who is comfortable with delivering a project, and have:

* A track record in the supervision of designs produced by junior colleagues

* Experience in design of a variety of building types and scales

* Direct experience of delivering efficiently in a BIM environment

* Experience in inspection and assessing existing buildings for alterations or repair.

* A relevant Degree (BEng/MEng or similar)

* Chartered or near Chartered status (MIStructE/MICE)
