For our location in Derby, UK we are looking to recruit a Senior Signalling Test Engineer

Purpose of the job

The Senior Signalling Test Engineer prepares the functional test procedures based on aligned test specifications, executes the test requirements or test cases on the vehicle or lab, analyses the test results and prepares the test report within a multi-organisational team
Additionally, Senior Signalling Test Engineer guides from a technical perspective the functional testers assigned to the project
Key responsibilities:

* Analysis of test specifications

* Collaboration with system, train control management systems, software validation and safety engineering

* Development of test procedures/test cases

* Selection of test equipment and test facilities

* Development of auxiliary devices

* Implementation of measurement equipment and installations on vehicles and/or laboratory

* Usage of usable software tools for documentation, follow-up and solution

* Usage of test management tools

* Planning the detailed test activities

* Execution of test requirements, procedures or test cases

* Basic failure analysis

* Test Problem Report (TPR) tool usage and support to collect and analyze test failures in the decided tool

* Documentation of the results within test protocols and test reports

* Support engineering in failure reporting and analysis

Qualifications:

* Degree in software or electrical engineering

* Good experience with MS Office, Analysis/KPI preparation

* Good experience with BT Mitrac SW-Tools (DCUTerm, TDS, Mavis etc.)

* Basic experience with requirement management tool DOORS

* Basic knowledge of Rational/JAZZ tool-suite

* Basic planning experience

* Basic experience regarding functions of rail vehicles, train control systems, braking system, propulsion, train protection, functional safety, conventional train control

* Experience with the product platform which will be tested

* Basis knowledge of functional safety (SIRF) and/or software validation process, functional validation process

* Knowledge of specific software tools for commissioning, test documentation and fault simulation

* Good communication skills, solution-oriented type of person

* Fluency in English, other languages such as French or German represent a plus

* Willingness to work in shift if required because of test object availability
