Senior Service Designer - Kaluza

Location: Flexible - commutable to one of our offices in Bristol, London, Edinburgh or Lisbon

Where in the world of OVO will I be working?

The Service Design discipline lives in the Platform Design department. It sits alongside Content Design, Design Operations, Design System, Research, and Product Design (formerly UX design).

You’ll also be joining our OVO-wide community of 60+ researchers and designers. We help teams see through the eyes of real people – understanding their context, motivations, and needs.We use a variety of tools and methods to make the greatest impact. These include design workshops, getting people excited about service design, UX critiques, improving our accessibility, and putting participants first in our research.

What will I be doing?

* Scoping, defining, and leading service design projects. This includes setting goals for user research and communicating insights.
* Helping teams understand people, stakeholders, technology and processes across Kaluza.
* Collaborating and building relationships across the organisation. This will involve facilitating workshops and co-designing.
* Use various tools for sketching, collaborating, prototyping and communicating design. We love Figma and Miro!
* Communicating the value of service design through presentations, workshops and documentation.
* Measuring the impact of your work and showing how it helps meet team objectives.
* Take part in design critiques and show-and-tells.

Is this the job for me?

You’ll use Service Design frameworks to simplify complex processes, so teams can make better decisions.

Ideally you will:

* Love learning about people and what makes them tic

* Enjoy coaching others
* Enjoy tackling complex problems and lateral thinking
* Pay strong attention to detail
* Simplify complex ideas and communicate them effectively
* Be comfortable sharing ideas and pushing initiatives forward
* Understand biases and assumptions (including your own)
* Be hungry to learn and go outside your comfort zone
* Thrive in a fast-moving environment
