QinetiQ's Systems and Requirements Engineers are renowned for providing high quality, independent technical advice to a wide range of customers in support of major acquisition programmes, and for developing our own range of world-leading products. We are looking to add a Senior Requirements Systems Engineer to our growing team of Systems Engineers within the BATCIS project and beyond who are interested in applying, sharing and developing their technical expertise within technical defence based programmes.

BATCIS is a project dedicated to delivering the next generation of Tactical Communication and Information Systems for UK armed forces; working collaboratively with our industry partners QinetiQ are providing private sector support to the (BATCIS) delivery team within Information Systems and Services which is part of Joint Forces Command.

Key Accountabilities:
• Responsible for devising and delivering technical solutions using sound technical, management and leadership skills such as systems engineering management and project management methodologies
• Work closely with Project and Programme Managers to plan and deliver (generally through a team) technical engineering activities required to meet project objectives.
• Internal and external focal point of contact for the project on all technical/engineering aspects and assurance
• Ensuring that the system meets appropriate regulatory, legal, safety and other engineering requirements and standards
• Managing the technical risk and opportunities on behalf of the project, including lifecycle considerations.
• Engage with the customer and other collaborating organisations, including in the devising of plans, review of progress, the delivery of the resultant system, and any subsequent support activities.

Key Knowledge, Skills & Requirements:
• Relevant experience across the engineering lifecycle: requirements capture and analysis, design, development, systems integration, test, trials, deployment and support.
• Knowledge of relevant programmes such as MORPHEUS / TRINITY or similar defence programmes.
• Systems Engineering knowledge and experience, ideally with a focus on communications and information systems engineering.
• Proven design, development and integration of Tactical CIS hardware and software into military platforms
• Higher level education with proven further personal development i.e. CEng or equivalent
• SC Clearance required
