Senior Quantity Surveyors - Leeds

Role Overview:

Galliford Try Building North East & Yorkshire are looking for two experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their team working on projects in Central Leeds area initially. You will be working alongside and reporting to a Managing Quantity Surveyor based on site and will initially be responsible for the procurement of the remaining envelope packages and the internal fit out/finishing packages. You will then be responsible for managing a number of packages through to final account whilst assisting the Managing QS with valuing Client variations and producing internal reports.

You will be familiar with JCT and NEC forms of contract and be able to negotiate with our supply chain to secure orders in a timely manner.

The Project

The initial Project is a £105m high rise residential contract close to the city centre of Leeds. It consists of 5 Blocks on the Monkbridge development a short walk from Leeds Train Station. Each block consists of Insitu Concrete frame and are of varying heights up to 21 storeys.

Works commenced on the Main Contract in May 2020 with Completion expected in Summer 2023. RC Frame is progressing well and envelope trades about to commence.

The contract is JCT 2016 with full design.

Key Responsibilities: Analysis of tender allowances
* The measurement and valuation of works (on site and from drawings), for valuations, variations and final accounts.
* Agreement, preparation and submission of valuation dates and interim valuations in accordance with those dates
* Administering and/or advising on Main Contract and Subcontract conditions
* Subcontract and Design Procurement
* Subcontract payments, variations and final accounts
* Submission of Cost Value Reconciliations
* Preparation of cost to complete

Financial Reporting Cash management and maximisation
* Cash Flow and Turnover forecast
* Provision of standard reports
* Internal Valuations/CVRs and subcontract liability reports in accordance with schedule of accounting period end dates and deadlines

Experience and Qualifications: You will have experience of working within the Construction industry for a main contractor, specifically on Design and Build; as well as sound knowledge of JCT and NEC Conditions of Contract.
* The ability to work independently as well as within a team is essential.
* You will be degree qualified and member of the RICS or IOB (or moving towards professional membership).
