About Our Team:

Our UK&I Infrastructure Cost Management Business Unit continues to grow, with a specific growth demand within the Infrastructure sector (Water, Highways, Environment, Rail, Aviation) where we have successfully secured positions with many high profile clients and some key local projects and programs in the industry.

As a direct result of this growth, we are currently seeking a full-time Senior Cost Manager/Quantity Surveyor based in London to support in our business growth, being part of a vibrant team supporting us to successfully manage and deliver various capital projects.

Our Infrastructure Cost Management team delivers all aspects of cost management services which covers the whole project lifecycle from initial inception, through the design and procurement process and onto the site delivery and commissioning phase. We have secured places on a number of frameworks alongside a core of regular repeat Infrastructure and Transportation clients. We are looking to expand our team to deliver an exciting mix of projects across a range of sectors.

Job Responsibilities:

As a Senior Cost Consultant, you will be competent to deliver in all aspects of cost management and quantity surveying from project inception to completion. You will work with an Associate or Director to successfully manage and deliver a number of projects, varying in complexity. You will drive performance standards through expert communication and effective use of the performance management process. Maintain and develop good relationships with clients, take every opportunity to uphold and increase the profile of AECOM as a provider of professional, premium quality services to the construction industry. The role will require a passion for first-class service delivery, implementing best practice and continuous improvement. You will also be responsible for managing and mentoring junior staff to deliver our Cost Management service efficiently and effectively. Core responsibilities include:

*

Ensure projects are managed and completed efficiently, on time and to the client’s satisfaction.

*

Be a key interface, and develop strong relationships, with clients.

*

Provide full Cost Management duties to AECOM clients. Including feasibility estimates, cost planning, procurement advice, value and risk management, post-contract management.

*

Provide effective support and mentoring to Cost Managers, Graduates and Apprentices.

Minimum Requirements

*

Degree Qualified – BSc or MSc – in Quantity Surveying / Cost Management or similar

*

Professionally Qualified – ideally Chartered Quantity Surveying Status with the RICS, CIOB, CICES or other equivalent institution.

*

Good understanding of the NEC standard forms of contract

*

Experience in either the Water, Aviation, Rail or Highways sector is preferable.

*

Proven ability to advise clients and design teams on cost, value and risk, not just cost in isolation.

*

Excellent numeracy, verbal and written communication skills.

*

Ability to work under own initiative where appropriate working closely with the Management Team in the delivery of some of our highest profile projects.

Clear work history and proof of professional development and learning

Excellent communication and organisational skills;

*

Highly motivated and with excellent industry network;

*

Ability to manage multiple projects for a variety of public and private sector clients

*

Prior line-management experience
